Welcome to the Stanford Mountain Bike Community!

You are now signed on to the mailing
list that Stanford mountain bikers use to keep in
touch. You can now send messages to, and receive
messages from, the list. Please read the
guidelines below!

For full information on the Stanford University
Cycling Club, of which we mountain bikers are a

*** How to use this list ***

This email list serves mountain
bikers in the Stanford community. It is sponsored
by Stanford Cycling, but anyone with an interest
in mountain biking in the Stanford area is welcome
to subscribe, whether or not you are a member of
the team or even a Stanford student. There are a
few rules on what exactly should be posted.

Messages that are appropriate:
- Posting group rides in the Stanford area; feel
free to invite people on your rides!
- Posting a proposed weekend/Spring Break/Summer trip
- Posting race information and results
- Club events or responsibilities that need volunteers
- Questions about bike maintenance/issues
- Questions about techniques, skills, training
- Questions/comments about local trails or bike shops
- Announcements of club-oriented social events,
parties, BBQs, etc.
- In addition, it is ok to send information on an
important outside issue (such as a community or
advocacy meeting) that impacts Stanford mountain
bikers, but please try to make sure it is directly
related to Stanford mountain bikers

Messages that are not appropriate:
- Messages applicable to one person or only a few
individuals on the list
- Political issues that have little to do with
anything listed above in the "appropriate" list
- Non-urgent and random bike questions: you be the
judge

If you are unsure about the appropriateness of a
message you want to send, please check with an
officer first:
www.stanford.edu/group/cycling/contact.shtml

*** For more road-specific content, please post here:
http://groups.google.com/group/Stanford-Cycling

*** For regional mountain biking stuff not
directly related to the Stanford community,
consider posting in an external forum, such as the
NorCal forum on mtbr:
http://forums.mtbr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=67

Above all, we're a group of people who just want
to go out and ride. This list helps us do that,
more, so enjoy! I look forward to riding with all
of you.
