Stanford African Students Association
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
* To foster unity and friendship, both within
Stanford, and between Africans and the
community at large.
* To foster cultural and social ties with all
African descent within the Stanford
* To promote the understanding of issues
Africa in the Stanford community.
* To promote understanding between
Africans and Americans.
* To help in-coming students settle within
the Stanford community.
In order to achieve the objectives listed above
SASA organizes a wide
variety of activities including Beach trips,
African dinners, the annual
Africa Week, dances, and other social
activities. The annual Africa Week
usually occurs sometime in April, and
includes African drama, fashion show,
poetry, music and dance, dinner, guest
lectures, etc. Presentations are
done by members of SASA and other invited
Membership is open to all Stanford
students,staff and faculty as
well as persons of the Stanford community
with interest in issues
pertaining to Africa.
