[bioontology-support] ontology metadata

I don't have these credentials as a student performed the work and uploaded these ontologies under my direction.

Any other option?

Ok, in that case for each ontology you would like to modify the "Contact" information you can click on the ontology name on the Browse page to get to the Ontology Summary page and presumably you will have admin rights to the ontology and can use the "Administer" menu to "Edit Ontology Information" .. actually ontology metadata information including the contact name that is displayed on the Browse page and Ontology Summary page. There might also be a way to update this information from the database if you need to make a lot of updates and prefer to do this via a script.

HI Trish:

Actually no. I want to remove the ontology owner for some ontologies that I had uploaded myself and put people's names in it. I want to take a screenshot for a publication and would prefer not to have people's names.

Hi Line,

To check, by update ontology metadata I gather you mean add new categories or groups or add a user as an admin of an ontology? If yes, then this can be done by working with the BioPortal Metadata ontology directly through Protege. Information on how to add or change categories, is provided here: http://www.bioontology.org/wiki/index.php/Virtual_Appliance_FAQ#How_do_I_add_or_change_categories.3F

Dear all:

I would like to update ontology metadata in the ESIP portal deployed on EC2. I do have access to the bioportal_admin module but the tabs for Update ontology metadata & Reassign Ontology owner are shaded out. How can I perform this task?

Thanks
