Hi, Support!

My name is Marcus Albert Alves da Silva, I’m a Master’s Degree student
in Computer
and Information System at the Military Institute of Engineering from
Brazil, and my research interest is on Ontology’s engineering, based on
 mappings. I am a BioPortal user(username is m_albert,), and I am curious
about the ontology mappings posted at that portal.

Please, could you answer some of the following questions?

1. Were some of the mappings generated by the LOOM algorithm reviewed
by some domain expert? If this is the case, how can I identify which of
them were?

2. With respect to the following mapping sets (NCI Thesaus to/from
Molecule Role; NCI Thesaurus to/from NCBI Organismal classification and
Molecule Role to/from NCBI Organismal classification), were the mappings
(pair of terms) reviewed by some specialists?

3. What’s the criteria or similarity threshold used by LOOM
algorithm to classify each mapping (pair of terms ) with the following
mappingrelation type, e.g., skos:CloseMatch, skos:ExactMatch, SameAs, etc.

4. I try to download LOOM API,in
http://www.stanford.edu/~amirg/Loom.jar.zip indicated by
http://www.bioontology.org/wiki/index.php/LOOM, but it’s not reachable. How
can I get the Last version by LOOM API?

Finally, I would like to get a copy of your NCBO Virtual Appliance so I can
run it locally. Is source code also available?

Please let me know how shall I proceed.

Thanks.

Marcus Albert
