[bioontology-support] BioPortal Virtual Appliance

Good Afternoon:

We have deployed a BioPortal Virtual Appliance on a system at the University of South Carolina for the Earth Science Information Partners here http://semanticportal.esipfed.org.

We are currently customizing it and populating it with ontologies. I was unable to upload an ontology in the portal after creating my own user account and got the following: "error on form".

Your support page for VAs mentions "Add an ontology using the BioPortal Admin User"

Does this mean that one will now need the admin password to upload an ontology? In our previous VA, anyone with a self-created user account could upload an ontology. Is this no longer the case? This model was very appropriate for the ESIP Federation, an open networked community that brings together science, data and information technology practitioners, on a volunteer basis.

Please let me know how to fix the error.

Thank you
