[bioontology-support] [BioPortal] Feedback from Viviana

Dear Viviana,

To the best of my knowledge dealing with multilingual ontologies in
BioPortal is not trivial and not really implemented. Ray will confirm and/or
provide details.

To tackle this issue, in the context of the SIFR project

(in Montpellier, France), in collaboration with NCBO,

We are working on dealing with multilingual ontologies in BioPortal and
implementing a French version of the Annotator. Actually, I would love to
extend our research to other languages, but I don’t have any contacts to get
biomedical ontologies/terminologies in Spanish (except a couple in BioPortal
taken from UMLS I think).

If you’re interested, we can continue offline on this aspect if you like.

Best regards

thank you for your answer. I'm still not getting results for spanish

I go to Bioportal -> Annotator. Then I insert a spanish text and I select
SNMI ontology. I don't find annotations

Is there a way to annotate spanish texts with bioportal?

Here is the string to reproduce the results. Se exploran ambas mamas
observandose ecoestructuras conservadas. No se evidencia imagen quistica en
mama izquierda. No presenta adenopatias axilares. 111 Se exploran ambas
mamas observándose ecoestructuras conservadas. No se evidencia imagen
quística en mama izquierda. No presenta adenopatías

Thank you!

Best regards,

Dear administrators. I'm trying to annotate some spanish medical
(radiological) reports with BioPortal. Is there some ontology in spanish
available in BioPortal? The only one I've found is SNMI (SNOMED
International Version), but what I see is that it only finds english

Thank you!
