[bioontology-support] Versioning of SNOMED CT, NCIT and ACT Resources

Hello Lamine,

We import SNOMEDCT and ATC from the UMLS Metathesaurus. They release terminologies twice per year in May and November with an AA and AB naming scheme, i.e., this year is 2022AA and 2022AB.

If you want to know what version of a terminology is provided in a metathesaurus release, you can refer to their vocabulary documentation page:

https://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/sourcereleasedocs/index.html

Find and click on your terminology of interest on the above page, and navigate to the metadata tab, e.g., this page for ATC:

https://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/sourcereleasedocs/current/ATC/metadata.html

… which shows the version as ATC_2021_22_03_07.

With regard to NCIT, I’m not sure what you’re asking. The authors of the ontology provide the version number in the owl:VersionInfo annotation property, i.e.:

<owl:versionInfo>22.07d</owl:versionInfo>

BioPortal displays what’s provided here.

Hello,

Can you please confirm / provide us the current versions of SNOMED CT, NCIT and ACT that Bioportal currently uses are as below?

1. SNOMED CT (2022AA ?)
2. National Cancer Institute Thesaurus (22.07d ?)
3. Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification (2022AA ?)

Is there a delay between Bioportal releases and resource publishers (SNOMED, NCI, WHOCC) updates?

Many thanks,
