For FarmShare (which is what I think you mean by AFS), you might get a faster reply if you email farmshare-discuss at lists.stanford.edu
Their homepage is really helpful, tool:
I couldn't find anything about their policy on CGIs. I trawled through their Apache conf files on one of the Corn machines, to no avail.
So, I just tested it directly:
Apache renders it as a file, so this implies that CGI is turned off (when executed from the command line, it should print out all shell environment variables). I also tried it with the file in the canonical cgi-bin directory, but then the web server returns a 404 status, which implies that cgi-bin directories are verboten.
I'm curious about this too, so I will re-send this message to farmshare-discuss with bmi-students taken off the CC.

Subject: Stanford AFS Question
Does anyone know if Stanford AFS let's us set up anything with Apache / wsgi / fcgi? I sent in a HelpSU ticket, and they are slow as anything so I wanted to see if anyone has tried this already.
