[farmshare-discuss] rye02 auth issues, sklearn on rye01/cardinal broken

rye02 should be back in service now. You may need to reauthenticate (kinit && aklog) before connecting if you use GSSAPI for login and have existing Kerberos credentials. python-sklearn has also been reinstalled on rye*, which seems to have cleared the error importing that package. If anyone is still having problems with either rye system please let me know.

Hello all,

It appears rye02 has been having authentication issues for at least the last week (from my attempting to access it), the SSH login daemon is still running, however I cannot authenticate. Last month another user (https://mailman.stanford.edu/pipermail/farmshare-discuss/2017-February/000862.html) mentioned that he could not login to rye02, so this has probably been happening for everyone since at least Feb 09.

Additionally, the python installation on rye01 is giving some weird errors:

Running os.getcwd() fails (this works fine on cardinal.stanford.edu<http://cardinal.stanford.edu/>):

Python 2.7.6 (default, Jun 22 2015, 17:58:13)
[GCC 4.8.2] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import os
>>> os.getcwd()
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory
>>>

Finally, I cannot import sklearn.linear_model as some of the python module files are missing (this also fails on cardinal.stanford.edu<http://cardinal.stanford.edu/>):

dfern at cardinal2:~$ python
Python 2.7.6 (default, Jun 22 2015, 17:58:13)
[GCC 4.8.2] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import sklearn.linear_model
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/sklearn/linear_model/__init__.py", line 15, in <module>
    from .least_angle import (Lars, LassoLars, lars_path, LarsCV, LassoLarsCV,
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/sklearn/linear_model/least_angle.py", line 25, in <module>
    from ..cross_validation import check_cv
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/sklearn/cross_validation.py", line 29, in <module>
    from .externals.joblib import Parallel, delayed, logger
ImportError: cannot import name logger

I compared with the github repo for sklearn and several files are missing (compare /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/sklearn/externals/joblib with https://github.com/scikit-learn/scikit-learn/tree/master/sklearn/externals/joblib)

Thanks,
Daniel Fernandes
