June 9 2005: GOA releases.

GOA (GO Annotation at EBI) is a project run by the European
Bioinformatics Institute that aims to provide assignments of gene
products to the Gene Ontology (GO) resource. The project announces
the 29th release of all GO annotations that exist in UniProt
(GOA-UniProt) as well as an 31th release of annotation for the
Swiss-Prot/TrEMBL/Ensembl/RefSeq non-redundant human proteome set
(GOA-Human) and 17th release of GOA mouse and rat and a 20th release of
our PDB data set (see the news item below). This release also sees the
5th release of GOA UniProt Proteome sets and the 4rd releases of GOA
arabidopsis and zebrafish. This is the 1st release of GOA-Chicken which
in future releases will include manual GO annotations from AgBase
(Fiona McCarthy and Shane Burgess, (Mississippi State University).

GOA now includes non-redundant file of GO annotations to the chicken
proteome. Future GOA-Chicken releases will integrate manual GO
annotations from AgBase (Fiona McCarthy and Shane Burgess,
(Mississippi State University).

The spkw2go mapping has been significantly updated for this release
although the file format has not changed.
