A major new release of our ontology tool COBrA is now available:
http://www.xspan.org/cobra/download.html

User guide and use cases:
http://www.xspan.org/cobra/cobra.html

COBrA allows two ontologies to be displayed simultaneously for the
purpose of mapping terms. It is also an ontology editor originally
designed for Gene Ontology-style bio-ontologies.

Features:
 + OBO 1.0 compatibility
+ ontology mapping supported by graphical indication of mapped terms and
automatic search for corresponding terms, for:
    - anatomy ontology to cell-type ontology mapping (tissue to
cell-type), and
    - anatomy to anatomy analogy/homology mapping (tissue to tissue).
+ analysis of mappings for structural consistency
+ import/export of mappings to simple ID<tab>ID format files
+ simple ontology merging and inference
+ GO, DAGEdit and OWL formats supported, export to Protege-compatible
OWL files

COBrA 1.2 complies to the OBO 1.0 format, has been extensively tested
on current OBO anatomy ontologies (those on sourceforge as of October 05),
and contains many bugfixes.

COBrA is developed under the BBSRC-funded XSPAN project
http://www.xspan.org/
further development will produce a Protege plug-in version for
ontology curation, see
http://www.aiai.ed.ac.uk/~stuart/COBrA-CT-Web/
Enjoy!
