UniProt-GOA release: 28 November 2012
=====================================

UniProt-GOA (UniProt GO Annotation) is a project run by the UniProt
group that provides assignments of gene products to the Gene Ontology
(GO) resource.

The data can be obtained via:

          EBI FTP: ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/GO/goa/

EBI SRS: http://srs.ebi.ac.uk. Search GOA data library

          GO FTP: ftp://ftp.geneontology.org/pub/go/gene-associations/

          GO CVS: http://www.geneontology.org/GO.CVS.help.html

For further information read: http://www.ebi.ac.uk/GOA or contact
goa at ebi.ac.uk.

NOTE: As a result of the work to move the GOC servers to a new location,
the data files are not yet available from the GO FTP site or CVS
repository. As soon as this work is completed, the files will be made
available in these locations.

Improvements to the UniPathway annotation pipeline.

In this release we are now obtaining cross-references for the UniPathway
resource directly from UniProt. This has resulted in over a ten-fold
increase in the number of annotations produced by this method. The
UniPathway2GO annotation method is currently providing over 1.4 million
annotations to more than 1.3 million proteins.

Regards,
UniProt-GOA Production
