[liberationtech] Liberationtech-related job or PhD

Hi all!

I graduated around month ago from Faculty of Computer Science,
University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and now I am searching for what do
to next. And for that I am turning to the wisdom of liberationtech
mailing list.

The point is that I have spend a bigger part of my life until now (and
also student years) trying to bridge the gap between (information)
technology and society, trying to make it really useful to the people,
empowering them. For example, I am quite active in a local community
wireless network, where we develop a lot of interesting tools and
services to empower people to make wireless links between themselves:

And somehow I have problems seeing myself in standard IT career so I
would like to ask all of you if you might know of some job or PhD
position. Preferably in Europe, even more preferably in Berlin (where
I am thinking of moving next). ;-) But not really necessary. I am not
limiting myself too much, to any particular field, but I would be glad
to work/research in something open-source related, using technology to
empower and liberate people from everyday or specific clamps, work on
some activism, democracy, governing, collaboration, trust, social or
information networks or any other related issues. So, using my
knowledge of computers and information science to improve the society.
Salary is not important, just that I have enough to eat and sleep
somewhere. And that I know that I am contributing somehow to improving
the world.

(I am fluent in any programming language if you give me two days, any
technology, and have extensive experience running society changing
initiatives and actions, organizing all kind of things and seeing the
bigger and broader picture, combining all different kinds of fields

Best regards

Mitar Milutinovic
