[liberationtech] Does your group oppose the US Internet blacklist bill?

Hi, folks --

I've been working on organizing opposition to PIPA (formerly COICA),
an Internet blacklist bill that's currently being rushed through in
the US. The bill would allow the government (and, in some
formulations, private companies) to get a court order forcing ISPs to
block sites they allege have too much copyright or trademark
infringing material (without having a trial to decide whether the site
is actually illegal or not). I've noticed that in DC there's a real
lack of understanding of how widespread opposition to this bill is. If
you represent a group that has concerns about the bill, or you know a
group that has concerns, can you please send me an email so I can add
you to our list? Here's who I have so far:

American Civil Liberties Union
American Association of Law Libraries
Association of College and Research Libraries
American Library Association
Association of Research Libraries
Computer & Communications Industry Association
Consumer Electronics Association
Center for Democracy and Technology
EDUCAUSE
Electronic Frontier Foundation
Google
Home Recording Rights Coalition
Human Rights First
Human Rights Watch
Knowledge Ecology International
NetCoalition
OpenDNS
Public Interest Registry
Public Knowledge
Rebecca MacKinnon
Reporters Sans Frontieres (RSF)
Special Libraries Association
World Press Freedom Committee
