Hello, everyone! Hopefully you are all aware of the pending legislation
in Congress - SOPA and PIPA - both which would have grave impact on the
future of the internet and how we access it. While a great deal of
awareness has been made on SOPA, the fight is not over yet - Congress
will revisit the bill in February
<http://judiciary.house.gov/news/01172012.html> - and PIPA, while being
less talked about, is just as dangerous.

We wanted to pass on information regarding a Meetup happening tomorrow.
Below is the information from Meetup's Community Developer:

Meetup Groups across the country are mobilizing to help stop SOPA and
PIPA, as we will very potentially see PIPA's passage in the next two
weeks if we don't act.

This is our chance for the Bay Area Tech community to organize together.
The Hackers and Founders Meetup, one of the Bay's largest Tech Meetups,
has scheduled an emergency Meetup on Wednesday, January 18. In order to
build critical mass and maintain an organized event *please RSVP in the
NY Tech Meetup* if you want to participate.

Go here to RSVP: http://meetu.ps/6KnKv

If you want more information on SOPA and PIPA and why it's so dangerous,
go here: http://americancensorship.org/

If you understand how grave this is and want to show your support and
get your Meetup involved, please join in now and spread the word!
