Awaaz.De ("Give your voice") is a research-backed, revenue generating
application currently reaching tens of thousands through hundreds of
thousands of phone calls. Awaaz.De facilitates information sharing
amongst groups through interactive voice message boards, voice
broadcasts, and voice surveys, all available through normal phone
numbers. Organizations across India use Awaaz.De to communicate with
customers or beneficiaries who lack Internet and require a richer way
to engage than text. More at
Awaaz.De was founded by Neil Patel (PhD in CS from Stanford) and Tapan
Parikh (Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley).
We are currently seeking Front-end and Back-end Engineering candidates:
• Drive the design and development of our web and smartphone-based
interfaces; own what the user sees and have a strong voice on how to
create the best possible user experience.
• Architect server and client-side systems using the Django framework
• Make UI and UX decisions, including layout.
• Integrate with the rest of social web through apps and APIs
• Stay up-to-date with technologies so you can suggest new coding
practices, recommend architecture changes and optimize scalability.
• From the ground-up, architect a back-end that lives in the cloud and
interfaces with the internet and telephony networks to serve millions of
web requests, phone calls, and sms messages.
•Tackle complex problems in distributed computing, performance, distributed
queuing, and real- time audio processing
•Dive into telephony servers (software switches FreeSWITCH or Asterisk) and
cloud telephony services (Twilio, Plivo, etc.) and come up with the best
solution for an integrated, high- performance infrastructure that serves
web, voice, and SMS.
