*ORGANIZER*

*Reports to**: *Organizing Director

*Type**: *Full time

*Location**:* San Francisco/Silicon Valley

*FWD.us is an advocacy organization created to help organize the broader
tech community to promote a bipartisan policy agenda – including
comprehensive immigration reform, education reform, and support for
scientific research – that will boost the knowledge economy to ensure more
jobs, innovation and investment, now and in the future. The organization is
backed by a diverse group of leading innovators, job creators, and business
owners from the tech sector dedicated to keeping the U.S. at the forefront
of global competitiveness.*

Responsible for leading our campaign efforts on the ground, the organizer
will work with the digital, communications, and policy team to: build a
political infrastructure of supporters with clearly defined layers of
volunteer leadership, create innovative programs that allow the tech
community to directly engage with the political process both online and
offline, organize public events with high-level surrogates, and serve as
the face of FWD.us in the community. This position is based in San
Francisco.

*Work experience:*


   - Minimum of 2 cycles of field experience on either issue or electoral
   campaigns.

*Skills:*


   - Strong organizing, writing and verbal skills
   - Highly detail-oriented
   - Creative and aggressive in pursuing organizing opportunities
   - Works well in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task
without sacrificing
   quality of work
   - Strong public speaker and trainer
   - Ability to represent FWD.us to a variety of allies and audiences
   - Ability to manage high-level relationships
   - Experience planning and executing events of all sizes
   - Understanding of immigration and education policy issues and their
   potential to engage the public
   - Ability and willingness to travel
