As poly stated, the Strongbox project is based on our (the Guardian
Project) IOCipher encrypted mobile storage library
(https://guardianproject.info/code), and the CipherCam library/sample
project available here: https://github.com/n8fr8/IOCipherCameraExample

You can learn more here:
https://lists.mayfirst.org/pipermail/guardian-dev/2015-March/004287.html
or try the APK here:
https://guardianproject.info/releases/CipherCam-v2.0.1-DEBUG-DEV-TEST.apk

It supports still photos, video and soon audio recording, as well. The
app also exposes the same launch "intents" for camera and video capture,
so any app that uses an external camera, can also tap into CipherCam.

I am very excited that developers like poly can build on this to build a
focused solution for one feature, and enhance it with their own ideas.
That is the exact point of this code and library, and this capability is
being built into ChatSecure, InformaCam and the Martus Mobile platform,
as well.

We hope other developers will build on this capability for their own
applications... wouldn't it be great if SnapChat locally encrypted
photos and videos it captured, so that they actually disappeared
permanently, like they claim?

All the best, and thanks again to poly for this release... we need more
developers out there working on these types of applications, and we are
always happy when they build on our IOCipher, SQLCipher and NetCipher
code base.

Best,
   Nathan
