*** I certainly hope you know what I'm talking about. If not, the
Lavabit owner preferred to close the service instead of being subjected
to a gag order and betraying his customers and convictions. Nothing
like this happened with other services subjected to such treatment or
worse. I won't make you the insult of presuming you didn't hear about
PRISM as well.

*** There are plenty of occurrences in the mailing list archive of
solutions claiming security that were dismissed for being proprietary
solutions. Moxie's work is an exceptional case for he has an
exceptional track record.

*** I have a preference for peer-to-peer solutions. I also have the
rationality to take for granted that there's no "my" solution, and in
case you're interested I recently made a point that a purely technical
solution is not enough.
