Dear Colleagues,

VOX-Pol is a DCU-coordinated European Union Framework Programme 7
(FP7)-funded academic research network focused on researching the
prevalence, contours, functions, and impacts of *Violent Online Political
Extremism* and responses to it.

now open for our VOX-Pol Mid-project Conference ‘Taking Stock of Research
on Violent Online Political Extremism’, which comprises three
pre-conference workshops, two keynotes, two high-level roundtables, and 50
paper presentations over three days from 22 – 24 June in Dublin, Ireland.



A number of ‘hands on’ workshops on research tools and methods for scholars
of violent online political extremism, will be held on the morning and
afternoon of Wednesday, 22 June.

JM Berger, co-author of *The ISIS Twitter Census* (2015) and *ISIS: The
State of Terror* (2015) will address ‘Extremists on Social Media, the
Post-ISIS Challenge.’

Dunja Mijatović, the OSCE’s Representative on Freedom of the Media, will
speak on ‘Exercising Free Expression to Counter Violent Extremism.’
