[liberationtech] More than 10, 000 Quora answers liberated via

I'm pleased to announce that more than 10,000 unique Quora answers (as
of this writing, about 12,300) have been released under free Creative
Commons licenses (CC-0/CC-BY/CC-BY-SA) using the
browser extension for Chrome/Chromium. You can find the liberated
content here:

(Type "Quora" into the search box just to see those data sets. Note
that users regularly create new exports of their answers, so you'll
see some duplicates.)

It is also mirrored to a few other sites; more mirrors always welcome: lets you download content from websites you
contribute to, and optionally publish it under a free license.
Supported sites include Quora, Yelp, (reviews), IMDB
(reviews), TripAdvisor, and Goodreads. If you wish to add support for
new sites, see the docs here:

Quora has quickly become the most popular use case, owing perhaps to
the huge amount of content some folks contribute there, as well as the
complete lack of an official export tool.

To install the browser extension, simply go to in Chrome or Chromium. (I have no current
plans for a Firefox port, but if someone wants to work on one, I'll be
happy to help. :)

This is a tool to open up the walled gardens that have popped up
across the web, to liberate users, and to make information freely
available. Please use it, help improve it, & help spread the word. :-)
