[mininet-discuss] PSA: never use dpctl - use ovs-ofctl with OVS

This is particularly important if you’re using Open vSwitch.

ovs-ofctl not only works correctly with OVS - it’s also easy to use because it takes the switch name:

    ovs-ofctl add-flow s1 in_port=1,actions=output:2

More information at:

1. https://github.com/mininet/openflow-tutorial/wiki/Learn-Development-Tools#ovsofctl_Example_Usage
2. the ovs-ofctl manual page (type ‘man ovs-ofctl’)

If you need to look at OVS’s kernel flow cache, you can use ovs-dpctl, but this is never what you want to do in normal usage.
