[openflow-discuss] Open flow controller: Global view of topology

Hi

As it is written in openflow documentation that openflow is generalization of "Ethane" concept.
In ethane network there is concept of minimum spanning tree and local switch manager which are used to send link status and switch neighbors information to ethane controller. In this way controller reconstructs the whole topology.

Does the same procedure applies on open flow network?. In case of yes, which messages in openflow protocol hold information about link status, switch's neighbors etc (topology information)

Best Regards
M.Siraj Rathore
