View at http://bit.ly/tb-prezi Tech Briefings are informal, interactive seminars on computer-related topics of interest to the Stanford Community. This is your opportunity to get technology updates from and ask questions of subject-matter experts. See the latest schedule at techbriefing.stanford.edu. This week's free Tech Briefing Prezi - A New Approach to Presentations Friday, November 16 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. LOCATION: Turing Auditorium (Polya Hall, Room 111) PRESENTER: Mark Branom, IT Services Prezi is a mind-mapping presentation tool that, in some cases, is a viable and engaging alternative to linear presentation applications such as PowerPoint and Keynote. In this session, Mark will walk you through creating a presentation in Prezi, and also highlight the latest features and new interface. Presentations have not evolved much in the 50 years since the slide was invented, but Prezi is changing that. Prezi lets you bring your ideas into one space and see how they relate, helping you and your audience connect. Zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to see details ? a bit like web-based maps that have changed how we navigate through map books. -- Prezi.com Next week's Tech Briefing: Stanford Box for Groups Friday, November 30, 2-3:30 p.m. Miss a Tech Briefing? We tried Kickstarter but only got 1/5th of the goal. So, we lowered the amount of exemplar pronunciations we are trying to collect but so far nobody can figure out how to put https://code.google.com/p/wami-recorder in Google Consumer Surveys. So we are trying to raise another $4,000 for exemplar pronunciation collection with Amazon Mechanical Turk: http://talknicer.com/slics Please see http://pronunciationeval.blogspot.com for more information. Thanks again and warm wishes.
