Call for Posters and Software Demonstrations
Join us in beautiful Lisbon this summer at ICBO 2015 to present your tools and techniques for creating, maintaining and using biomedical ontologies or your late-breaking biomedical ontology research results.
We invite Poster and Software Demonstration submissions relevant to the area of Biomedical Ontology which address, but are not limited to, the topics from the Research Track. Technical posters detailing descriptions of completed work and also work in progress are welcome. Software demonstrations that present tools that are relevant to creating, curating and using biomedical ontologies are also most welcome. Finally, authors of full papers accepted for the Research Track are also invited to submit a poster or a demonstration that further showcases their work.
Accepted submissions will be presented in the poster and software demonstration session. Furthermore, a selection of successful poster abstracts and software demonstrations will be invited to give flash presentations during the main conference.
Authors should submit a two-page extended abstract for evaluation. All submissions will undergo a common review process. Decisions about acceptance will be based on relevance to the community, originality, potential significance, topicality and clarity. For demonstrations, authors should be clear about what will be demonstrated to the participants.
All papers and abstracts should be submitted electronically via the EasyChair conference submission system: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icbo2015pd <https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icbo2015pd>
Submissions must be in PDF and must conform to the author instructions at http://icbo2015.fc.ul.pt/authorins.html <http://icbo2015.fc.ul.pt/authorins.html>
At least one of the authors must be a registered participant at the conference, and attend the Poster/Demo Session to present the work. The abstracts of accepted posters and demonstrations will be given to all conference attendees and published on the conference web site. They will also be compiled into a CEUR-WS Proceedings for easy Web retrieval and archival.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
Presentation of specific biomedical ontologies - including ontologies that are new to the community or descriptions of significant changes and enhancements in existing biomedical ontologies.
Use of biomedical ontologies in applications and analyses
Design patterns for biomedical ontologies
Techniques for reusing biomedical ontologies
Reasoners for biomedical ontologies - including reasoners that may be new to the biomedical community or descriptions of improvements in existing reasoners.
Triples stores, and related tools, that have been successfully used in biomedical ontology based applications
Tools for querying ontologies or data annotated with terms from ontologies
Tools for editing and creating biomedical ontologies
Tools for collaborative biomedical ontology authoring
Analyses of the biomedical ontology landscape
Issues in modelling and biomedical ontology engineering - including problems and desiderata for tools.
Biomedical ontology engineering workflows
Interoperability of biomedical ontologies
Biomedical ontology visualisation
Biomedical ontology comprehension
Repositories for biomedical ontologies
