[protege-discussion] The use of axioms

Good morning,
  I wante to know what is the purpose of axioms in Protege. are there used juste for the classification of classes and the coherence of the khnowledge base, or they are also used as an inferred engine? and what is the link between the axioms and the inferred engine JESS?
