Pauli,

I suggest that you contact Henrik Eriksson, the developer of the PDF 
backend directly and ask him about the status of the plugin. It would be 
great if he could add an entry in the plugin library of our wiki [1]. I 
agree that this is a very useful plugin for others as well.
