[protege-discussion] Problem installing Protégé

Well, I tried installing protégé on my other laptop (Windows XP and not
Vista) and had the same problem with InstallAnywhere asking me always to
select a different location, and I tried downloading the non installer
version of 4.0 on my Vista laptop.  It took a very long time for version 4.0
to download.  After that, not having instructions on what to do next, I
tried opening “run”, which suggested I extract all compressed files in the
folder, so I did that but got 3 or 4 unspecified errors (e.g. Error
0x80004005).  I am ready to give up trying to install this
  I’ve been at it
for 2 days and can’t spend much more time.  Any additional suggestions?

Monica, are you running Windows Vista?

 

I know there were issues with the installanywhere installer on Vista.

These are (being?) resolved now with the newest version of installanywhere.

 

If you want a non installer version of Protege4.0 you can download it as a
zip from [1].
