If you want to do more fine grained mapping you can also import SKOS.

Several.
One is as Alex Shkotin suggested, to use equivalentClass,
equivalentProperty or sameAs.
Another is to create a single class or individual with the meaning you
want and use (annotation) properties to associate different strings
with that single class.
A third is to use your own (annotation) property to link the items
that are supposed to be synonyms.
