The main drawback is that you have only a single relationship, so you  
can't distinguish between different connections from a single  
individual.

For example, if John has a sister Sue and a mother Jane, you would have:

    John has Sue
    John has Jane

and you would have no way of telling the difference in the  
relationship John has with Sue and Jane.
