[protege-discussion] Navigating Ontologies - beyond using tree views

Does anyone have any pointers or guidance on performing ontology
concept navigation with views other than tree views? I've seen many
reported usability issues with trees, especially with hierarchies that
exceed three levels deep. Tree views also generally require using a
mouse - which some users have issues with. Any experiences or
suggestions would be much appreciated.

I am not restricted to the existing tabs or widgets already present
within Protege and am open to creating new or novel user interface
widgets - specifically web-based.
