[protege-discussion] Metamodel Project doesn't load as per Documentation

Thanks Tanya
I found what was being corrupted. I had a bad pont file. And it wasn't throwing the error in a visible manner
My next challenge is that I'm having difficulties getting a networked client to connect to the project I'm hosting. But I think that's more of an access rights issue that also isn't throwing the right error. I'm a bit new to using Tomcat so I'm working my way through this.

Karl,
Several other projects are using Protege 3.4.7 client-server mode with no issue at all.
If you still have trouble with the metaproject, please send it to me, and I will take a look.

Tania, I appreciate the idea that it means a corrupted meta-project, but I've downloaded the installation 4 times, running it three times on a Windows 2008 server, once on Windows 7, and my coworker downloaded it independently on Windows XP with the same results.
If it is corrupted, then I don't think the corruption is at our end

Karl,
If there is no Project class in your metaproject, it means it is a corrupted metaproject. The one that comes distributed with the Protege installation will have Project under PolicyControlledObject.
I suggest making a fresh installation of Protege 3.4.7 (please don't use earlier versions, because they are not supported anymore). Open the metaproject.pprj in protege, and check the subclasses of PolicyControlledObject. The Project class should be there.
There are very clear instructions on how to add your own project in the metaproject here:
http://protegewiki.stanford.edu/wiki/Protege_Client_Server_Tutorial_Configuration
If you still have problems, please send me the metaproject files.

I have spent about a week with multiple versions of Protégé (3.4.7, 3.4.4, 3.3.1) in trying to set up a multi-user environment. I have followed the Multi-user instructions to the letter. The problem invariably comes when I load the "metaproject" project from the Examples\server directory. No "Projects" subclass appears under "PolicyControlledObjec" class.
And there is zero documentation on how to go about creating such "Project" object
