I have a little question.

Often ' instances ' are referred in ontology. Can some one tell me what exactly instance mean in an ontology ?
Does ' Individuals ' declared in protege are instances ? Like in a class Person, we declare an Individual named ' Fred ' ; is an instance of Person type....
