[protege-owl] similarity and difference between OWL and OWL-S

The question surprised me, because I never thought of OWL-S as providing information such as super-class / sub-class (unless you are thinking about the taxonomy from the service category). I think of OWL-S as semantically describing a web service in terms of capabilities.

Hi Friends,
Can any1 tell me the difference and similarity between OWL and OWL-S. Or a way to describe a resource with OWL and should be searched through web service? Any research papers for that?

OWL is a language for writing ontologies. OWL-S is a set of ontologies written in OWL to declare and describe services.
